NERD RAGE!!!!! but really, why you mad though?
Ok, so patch 4.0.1 hits WoW and wow I can't stand healing anymore, Dps isn't too bad though. SC2 got a patch too (And all the terran yell "It's such a nerf, I'll never be able to play the same again!") well you know what skill-less slug terrans? They didn't nerf bio ball so have no fear and quit crying about not having rush reapers anymore. Also, i started playing deadspace finaly (not on computer because it doesn't like my windows 7) on my crossbox and it's pretty decent, I have problems with it but it's not bad.
On to the philosophy. I have lost all hope for the warcraft movie because of an interview of Sam Raimi that I saw yesterday. he knows next to nothing about the game world, and less about the actual story and lore. This, as you may imagine, is a problem. The only really hope I can see for it is if Chris metzen gets a huge amount of control over the project, but I doubt that he will. "But ancient gamer, where's the philosophy here?" I shall tell you, this ties around and around in to it's self and starts with the production of a good movie.
Some one makes a very good movie (Inception springs to mind) and everyone loves it as they should. Now, the people who didn't make this movie instantly see that they could make a movie too and it could be good, but they are invariably dumb and do a poor job(The last airbender springs to mind in this case, and that is an example of Tv to film which is never as hard as game to film). Leaving that for a moment, some one makes a very good video game (World of warcraft just for this example) and it sells very well and people love it and all that nice stuff, then as with film, some people decide to make a bad game because they're dumb and used some of the good things from the good game but watered down and stretched out to the point that you hardly notice them anymore. Alright, we're on our way to having a bad game movie, the next step is the fan/player base, this is very important, because with a fan base, even a horrible flop will make millions of dollars. Now back to the people who are good and the people who are bad, unfortunatly the good people are going to be at fault here, they get the deal, it's all good, then they have a nice amount of time to popularize it "Look, this brilliant person who made this fantastic film, is going to make the film of this game!". There is nothing wrong with this IF THE BRILLIANT PERSON PLAYS AND LOVES THE GAME, and Sam Raimi says he does but he who knows, knows. and no one who really plays the game enough to know the lore would talk about it the way he does.and thus we find our selves in the bad situation where they rely on the good name of the director and the game to make you go watch it.Then it's crap.
This also happens all to frequently with books, and Tv shows, so why?
